I have been working in the computer and software industry for several decades now witnessing its astounding evolution and practicing several generations of Information Technologies from early assembly language to Web frameworks and Cloud-based platforms.
I'm currently head of Product Master Data & Services at Schneider Digital, leading a team of a 100+ software engineers, Cloud architects and Product Owners located in France, India, UK and US. Before that I was working for Kalray, a startup that develops and markets innovative massively parallel processors and programming tools. I have significantly contributed to its growth and funding over a period of 3 years. Kalray completed a succesful IPO in June 2018 on the Euronext market.
I'm also the co-founder and president of Nuxos Publishing Technologies, a company dedicated to providing a SaaS, cloud-based professional Web solution to publishers called IziBook.

On a more personal side now:
I have been following the evolution of Deep Learning for quite a few years now, using artificial neural networks and more conventional machine learning techniques on a number of professional projects or projects of my own. In 2017 also decided to go deeper in the mathematical foundations of Neural Network developpers and graduated two excellent online courses from Stanford University on Machine Learning and Deep Learning Specialization by Andrew Ng
I have been following with great interest the work of Jeff Hawkins and the development of the HTM technology at Numenta. I highly recommend reading Jeff's book "On Intelligence". You'll learn a lot about our cortical brain and how to derive a computing representation of it.
You can read the HTM Whitepaper hat I translated in French and also run HTM Studio, an easy to use anomaly detection software based on HTM. You can download an official Windows or Mac version from Numenta Web site. You can download the Linux 64 bits version (Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04) that I built from the source.
I also wrote the Ruby interface to Retina, a semantic text analysis technology based on HTM by Cortical.io.
Ruby: I have used many programming languages in my career (C, Ruby, Perl, Python, Shell, Smalltalk, Java...) and since 2000 I have been mostly working with Ruby that I discovered while working for Xerox Labs.
Since 2005, Richard Piacentini and I organize the Paris On Rails conference which year after year gather more than 250 french speaking developpers. We also translated several Ruby and Ruby on Rails reference books from English to French and frequently wrote articles in the computer press.
Some of the Ruby projects I worked on over the past years:
I was among the very first pioneers and advocate of the Linux operating system in France.
I am really proud of having started using Linux from day 1 just after I saw Linus Torvalds' first message on the comp.os.minix newsgroup.
At that time I was working for HP R&D Labs and I immediatly envision the impact Linux could have if it it was supported by enthusiasts throughout the world. I started writing a couple of drivers for some network cards commonly available in the very first PCs marketed by HP.
Then in 1995 I co-founded with Daniel Veillard the GUILDE association, the first French Linux User Group. At its peak, this LUG had more than 500 members and was actively promoting the Linux operating system by giving many presentations and talks especially to public and private companies in the Grenoble area. .I was also the driver behind the "Journées Linux de Grenoble" jointly organized by the INRIA Rhône-Alpes and the GUILDE Linux User Group in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2003. The 2003 edition was on "Embedded and Real Time Linux" and hosted close to 1000 visitors. This was before larger scale, professional Linux events started to pop up in several places throughout the world.
I enjoy playing tennis, riding bycicle with my family, writing code and populating our sweet home with as many Linux box as possible :-).
